STORM Hy-Road - Pearl
The number one factor of ball motion is Coverstock. Just one shot with the new Hy-Road Pearl and you’ll see the Difference. The R2S Pearl Reactive shell floats easily through the front, maintaining ball speed as much as possible, waiting to really cut loose on the backends!
Matching the Core to the Coverstock is equally important, though. That is why the same Inverted Fe² Technology Weightblock will be carried over into the new Hy-Road Pearl. Pairing the R2S Pearl Reactive Ccoverstock with the dynamic Fe² Weightblock ensures that your favorite layouts in your previous Road Series balls will be just as effective in the new Hy-Road Pearl. You see, STORM recognizes your needs as a bowler because we, too, are bowlers! And just like you, we want every advantage on the lanes that we can get.
Don’t forget that the thicker shell of the Hy-Road Series makes a Difference, too. The amount of energy transferred to the pins at impact is greater, translating to unmatched power at the pocket. It’s part of what makes the Hy-Road one of the most special balls in the history of bowling.
The staple of reliability that was the Hy-Road has carried over to its successor, the Hy-Road Pearl. Inverted Fe² Technology provides more hitting power with every shot that is truly profound. The R2S Pearl Reactive clears the fronts with an unparalleled motion as it exits the end of the pattern.
Smartly designed Inverted Fe² Core
Inverted Fe² Technology boasts a higher RG and Differential like most other balls in the Thunder Line, but with one very important benefit: it lacks the Core material that most other balls have. This enables the ball to have a much thicker shell which raises the coefficient of restitution. A higher energy transfer to the pins with less deflection upon impact is what can be expected with this design.
The R2S delivers a perfect balance
R2S is synonymous with some of the most successful balls in recent history like the Hy-Road, Frantic, and the !Q Tour. It is renowned for clearing the front part of the lane with an unprecedented movement on the backend. The consistency of this shell through the heads is something to be marveled at.

Testbericht

Test report
The Hy-Road Pearl is intended for medium Oil and its pearl coverstock creates more of a flip-type backend reaction.
Since my current arsenal already includes two balls with this type of roll, I decided to try a completely different, tamer layout. This layout is a test to see what all can be done with the Hy-Road Pearl. Result: this other, “different” layout worked extremely well!
This new layout results in an earlier ball roll and creates an absolutely calm and predict-able transition from the Oil to the dry. It is particularly suitable for use at the beginning of a set, where lane conditions typically create flippy backend reactions (over/under). The layout of my Hy-Road Pearl reduces this jump at the back of the pattern significantly, because it offers a controlled motion out of the Oil, thus turning the pattern into some-thing that is controllable and readable.
I’ve used my Hy-Road Pearl on many, absolutely different sports patterns, from long Oil (42 feet) to short Oil (35 feet), and I could adjust to the changing conditions without any problems, resulting in good to excellent scores.
Summary: The Hy-Road Pearl is a true benchmark ball!
Sincerely, Frank Heine
